"Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart."Simply put, write about topics that speak to you. You don't think about breathing. In the same way, you shouldn't have to strain with your writing. I mean, writing is hard enough as it is. Write about stuff that interests you or is important to you.
- William Wordsworth
To be honest, I am getting bored with this blog. In the beginning, everything I read seemed novel and I wanted to share, but now it seems like the same old, same old. My eyes are tired. From stalking the computer screen, whether I'm following other blogs or writing my own thing, or trying to put on enough makeup that will actually be visible enough to be captured on camera. Hence the reason why Makeup Monday's content has been so random.
Oh, I don't know. Right now, I am interested in finishing the numerous books that I've started. And only that. Shut off my laptop and focus on reading. But even the books I am in the middle of are not so riveting. Social obligations and returns take precedent. I had a conversation with a friend yesterday. She's a fellow creative. Talking to her reminded me of the past writing that I did. I fished it out of my bookshelf this morning and it seems more engaging to me than this blog. So, off I go to pursue my interests.
I definitely know the feeling you're describing all too well, especially the "same old, same old" part. I still haven't really figured out what makes one come out of that kind of "slump" I guess, but it helps to get re-inspired. So do more of what you truly love, and maybe it will inspire you to write? :) I hope you don't decide to stop posting entirely, though!!

Please don't put to much pressure on yourself. If this blog is not something you enjoy, you should/ could consider changing the topics you write about, or maybe take a little break. I always found that very helpful. This here should be something you love and are looking forward to, right? ♥ I will support whatever decision you make. Thank you for being honest.

Considering that it's only been 4 months since I started the blog, I won't stop posting entirely. But now, I'm okay with not posting on designated days if I don't have anything worthwhile to say.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree about trying to protect one's blog to remain something fun. I'm going to take a calligraphy class next month, so hopefully that will reinvigorate my creative spirit. Thanks for your support!
ReplyDeleteWell sometimes you need to take a break, travel, find something new, will get you inspired again!
