Why So Serious?

If I don't try, this is how my face usually looks.  Kinda deeply dissatisfied.

How many times have you laughed today?  Don't know?  Try to keep count tomorrow.  Don't change what you do, just keep track of how often you laughed.  Sadly, Kids Health Organization reports that adults laugh only 15-18 times a day.  Now, how often do you think children  laugh throughout the day?

200.  And no, that is not a typo for 20 times.  They actually laugh about 200 times a day.  What happened?!

I'm sure you've heard the research about how laughter is good for your health.  It increases blood flow just like an aerobic activity would.  It reduces stress and helps people bond with one another.  It just feels good.  Don't you just love it when you laugh so much that your sides hurt or your cheeks are sore?  I'd much rather laugh than exercise.

I want to laugh more often and watching sitcoms naturally came to mind.  The only sitcom I actually laughed out loud during was Seinfeld  and once during New Girl*.  I giggled during Portlandia.  Since finishing these, I haven't found a sitcom that I found truly memorable and not stupid or crude.  I am not a fan of Parks & Recreation.  Any suggestions?

E. E. Cummings said that "The most wasted of all days is one without laughter." And I wanna make sure you laugh today, so I've got a joke for you.

Q: Why do bananas never get lonely?
A:  Because they come in bunches.

I tried this joke out on my dad, and his answer was "Because the banana is always between two nuts."  Which took the joke to a whole other level and I think is funnier than the original answer.
*  I watched up to the third season of New Girl  but stopped because Coach irritates me.

  1. I don't know if it'd be something you'd like or not, and it's kind of older, but The Golden Girls is something that's always guaranteed to make me laugh. Modern Family is pretty funny, too. That's so interesting to know how much adults vs. children laugh... I definitely wanna count how many times I laugh in a day now!

  2. Oh! I forgot about Modern Family. I actually like it. I watch it when it's on TV sometimes. If Golden Girls is on Netflix, I will definitely check it out.
