"Flannery O'Connor sat for two hours every day at a typewriter facing the back of a clothes dresser."
- Kent Haruf
"I'm a slow writer: five, six hundred words is a good day."
- Shelby Foote
And of course, Virginia Woolf famously said a woman must have a room of her own to write. It doesn't have to be a room necessarily if space is an issue. It could be a desk in a corner or a spot you occupy at the library or neighboring cafe. Just pick a spot where there are no, or few, distractions. Hopefully, someplace where you can be inspired.
Do you have a writing routine? What is your instrument of choice? Do you write in the morning or night?
