Purpose Before Problems

February was not good to me.  It's March already and I have yet to get closer to the goals I set out earlier this year.  One good thing that I am patting myself on the back for is at least posting regularly on this blog.  I keep saying that this blog is about positivity, but I have yet to adopt positivity as a way of living.  I feel so behind, but I'm fighting my natural tendencies and striving towards a better me.  Cathy Rudder, a fellow good morning reader, reminded me to, "Fill each day with purpose--not problems."

February 25 & 28, 2015

Trying to fix your problems first and then saying you'll deal with your purpose later is the wrong approach.  It's backwards because problems (which are mere obstacles) become roadblocks to progress if you don't look at it with the right perspective.  Because purpose is always bigger  than our problems.  When you remain fixed on your purpose, you won't be so easily discouraged by the problems.  Remember, we can make it through the rain.

I always feel like I could or should do better, no matter how well I may have done or tried.  But I am learning that you can only do your best.  Do NOT focus on things outside your control.  Don't dwell on the past (it can't be changed anyway) or worry about the future.  After all, "which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?" -- Luke 12:25 (ESV)  Ms. Noel suggests creating a mission statement for the day to help you live in the moment at hand.  Nothing fancy, just write a single sentence stating something you aim to do within the next 24 hours.  By taking an action like this every day, I am sure I'll be closer to fulfilling my purpose.

These lessons were so good, I had to share them both.  I hope my thought process makes sense here.  I'm a bit unwell and unsure.  Happy almost Friday peoples!

  2. Exactly! It seems so obvious but you have to be conscious about it sometimes. XP

    Thanks for the encouragement!
